When bringing furniture from Britain to your holiday house or home in Hungary you must take into account the following:
* If you yourself bring these goods across the border with your own vehicle you often don't have to pay any import taxes.
* When you use a furniture VAN then you should take into consideration that you must pay approx.. 35% import duties concerning the value of goods.
* These costs often turn out better than expected, because it does not concern new goods but used. You should however make your own estimation of the value of goods, this value is a definite benefited when you get into a discussion about the value of the goods.
Also there is the possibility to look for a Hungarian transport company which takes along your goods as return cargo to Hungary. This is considerably cheaper than renting a lorry in Britain yourself. |
